sCYence Fair 2023

The MESH project owned its own booth at the sCYence Fair 2023 organised by The Cyprus Institute, were the idea of the system was described to the participants. In addition, a model of one of MESH’s early designs was presented in video, and the early-prototype’s functions was shown to the visitors. The sCYence fair took place on 5th of April 2023 and it was open to the general public, giving the opportunity to AAS to disseminate its activities and objectives, to promote science and innovation in Cyprus, and to receive input from potential customers.

Info day for researchers, including a site tour of the MESH MVP

On Saturday 4/3/2023 our team participated in the curriculum of the course ‘Engagement with Professional Practice and Industry’ offered as part of the interdepartmental postgraduate (Master’s) program ‘Energy Technologies and Sustainable Design’ by the Polytechnic School of the University of Cyprus. In this context, the team exchanged knowledge with the tutors of the course, experts in sustainable architecture and it delivered a presentation to a group of Post Graduate students of the University of Cyprus on the concept of Adaptive façades drawing on the research conducted by AAS, as well as from knowledge acquired through the related conference participation of the team members. The session included, also, insightful findings from our comprehensive market research in this narrative as well as discussion on the objectives and innovations of our adaptive façade system MESH. During this event, the students had also the opportunity to visit on-site the MESH MVP. 

TIMEPAC 2022 International Workshop “Enhancing Energy Performance Certification to Drive the Deep Renovation of Europe’s Building stock’

Our team participated at the TIMEPAC 2022 International Workshop with the title ‘Enhancing Energy Performance Certification to Drive the Deep Renovation of Europe’s Building stock’, presenting results from our work. The workshop was organized by Politecnico di Torino at the Energy Center House, Turin Italy on the 30th of November 2022, for TIMEPAC (Towards Innovative Methods for Energy Performance Assessment and Certification of Buildings), a Horizon 2020 research project. The presentation had the title “Landscape mapping of adaptive building skin – prevailing solution in the market and in research” and it was a presentation of some of the results from the market research that was conducted for the project. The aim of this presentation was to inform the participants about the European landscape of advanced building skin solutions for reshaping the existing building inventory towards enhanced energy efficiency and fortified climate resilience, achieved through strategic renovations and inform of the development of MESH.

5th ESEIA International Conference “Towards Climate Neutral Energy Communities”

MESH was presented at the prestigious 5th ESEIA (European Sustainable Energy Innovation Alliance) International Conference entitled Towards Climate Neutral Energy Communities that took place 2-3 November 2022 at The Cyprus Institute in Nicosia, Cyprus.  The presentation occurred during the conference’s second day, which was dedicated to spotlighting innovative and entrepreneurial endeavours of the local community, showcased through a series of project presentations. During this session, the MESH concept and its objectives were introduced, and the potential role MESH could play in facilitating the transition of urban centres towards climate neutrality was explored.
